NCR
Form
A form which produces copies of typed, handwritten or dot-matrix
printed information without the use of carbon paper. NCR stands
for "No Carbon Required." NCR forms cannot be used
with xerographic (including laser) or ink-jet printing. See
also Carbonless.
Newsprint
Unsized, low quality, absorbent paper used for printing newspapers.
Over time, the color of the paper and the ink may change dramatically.
Nipping
A stage in book binding where after sewing the sheets are
pressed to expel air.
Non-Repro
Blue
A light blue color that is often used to make crop marks and/or
notes. In one and two color printing, the non-repro blue will
usually not be reproduced on the actual printing job. However,
in full-color work, the blue is reproduced just as any other
color.
Notch
Binding
Similar to Perfect Binding except that after the spine is
ground down, notches are cut into the spine to improve adhesion.
